So, what is EDLA? In short, the Enterprise Device Licensing Agreement (EDLA) is a certification program for Android devices launched at the end of 2022. Its mission is to ensure the seamless compatibility of Android devices with Google services and applications. When a device is Android EDLA-certified, it essentially becomes your gateway to effortless integration with the Google ecosystem of mobile services and apps. This integration empowers educators with expanded teaching resources to enhance learning experiences.

There are three distinct types of EDLA interactive flat panels (IFP) that are currently available in 2024:

Generic EDLA IFP - turning an IFP into a large Android phone or tablet making sharing very difficult.
Proprietary EDLA IFP - more flexibility but potentially locks a school to a single provider of hardware or software.
Multi-User EDLA IFP - maximum flexibility, security and file sharing all while utilizing your school's current IT infrastructure.

The three distinct types of EDLA IFPs are quite different in how they are administered and managed by schools and used by teachers. We will take a closer look at each type of IFP and help you understand which one is best for your school.

We will be using a BenQ RP panel as part of our demonstration.
